WHAT IS THE REPLEXA+ THERAPY SYSTEM
Replexa+ is a Shortwave Diathermy device that applies electromagnetic energy to the body at a frequency of 27.12 MHz. Shortwave Diathermy provides thermal benefits (with little to no sensation of heat) and stimulates cellular activity to treat deep tissue problems. Replexa+ can be safely administered by the patient or caregiver in any setting.
...So what is Shortwave Diathermy?
Shortwave Diathermy is the application of oscillating, electromagnetic energy to the body at a frequency of 27.12 MHz.
Shortwave diathermy can be administered as either an inductive or capacitive field. In capacitive, the body part treated is primarily within an electric field and fat layers are more readily affected. In inductive, the body part is primarily treated within a magnetic field, and deeper tissues like muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia are more readily affected.
Shortwave diathermy can also be administered in either a continuous or pulsed mode. In continuous mode, the energy is “always on”. The continuous energy is typically used to provide heat at the skin level to warm up tissue for rehab purposes. In pulsed mode, the energy is applied in bursts. The pulsed energy increases depth of penetration but skin temperature is generally unaffected because the heat can be dissipated or absorbed by the tissue during the treatment.
